Introduction

Long committed to championing the richness of Chinese culture, Memorigin, the Hong Kong-based tourbillon watchmaker, once again challenges the conventions of traditional watchmaking design. This year, the brand brings together the distinctive aesthetics of Chinese heritage with the precision of Western watchmaking craftsmanship, unveiling the Verdant Resonance Tourbillon Watch.

More than a timepiece, this exceptional creation embodies the refined spirit of the Chinese literati. From its innovative use of materials and expressive colour palette to its sophisticated mechanical movement, the watch boldly merges tradition with contemporary ingenuity, bringing a distinctive sense of Eastern elegance and modern technological sophistication to fine watchmaking.

The pairing of the guzheng and incense burner has long been an emblem of refined living among Chinese scholars and literati. The ritual of burning incense was believed to calm the mind and cultivate an atmosphere of serenity and refinement, while the delicate trails of rising smoke lent an added sense of poetry to the art of playing the guzheng.

Inspired by this timeless aesthetic, the Verdant Resonance Tourbillon Watch captures the essence of this centuries-old scene within the intimate dimensions of the dial—preserving an enduring vision of Chinese elegance, artistry and cultivated beauty.

A finely sculpted miniature Chinese zither occupies the 9 o'clock position, complete with individually crafted steel strings. Its hand-shaped seconds indicator moves across the strings, creating the poetic illusion of a musician playing an everlasting melody.

Inspired by the traditional Chinese ritual of burning incense, a miniature incense burner adorns the lower-right dial. Luminous green lines rise above it, recreating delicate trails of incense smoke and capturing the tranquil atmosphere of an ancient scholar's retreat.

The hand-wound flying tourbillon features a free-sprung balance for enhanced shock resistance and stable timekeeping performance. With 162 components, 37 jewels, and a 48-hour power reserve, its sophisticated architecture combines mechanical precision with an exceptionally slim profile.

The case combines lightweight carbon fiber with integrated luminous material, creating a distinctive geometric texture and a subtle glow in low-light conditions. Paired with a deep green rubber strap, it brings a contemporary, technical edge to traditional Chinese aesthetics.
