It began with the rhythmic, mechanical heartbeat of a vintage Sea-Gull and the faded dial of a cross-generational Beijing Watch. For our founder, Alonzo Tang, these weren’t just instruments of time; they were artifacts of a resilient horological heritage. As a lifelong collector of "Lao Zi Hao" (China’s time-honored watch brands), Alonzo spent decades obsessing over the architecture of movements and the poetic soul of Chinese craftsmanship.

But as he traveled the halls of Baselworld and Geneva, he noticed a profound silence. While the world celebrated the heritage of the Swiss Jura, the groundbreaking innovations emerging from the East—and the bold creativity of independent micro-brands globally—were often relegated to the shadows of prejudice.

The spark of Horology Planet was born from a simple, stinging realization: We have the genius, but we lack the stage.

From "Made in China" to "Created in China"

The landscape of watchmaking has shifted. We have witnessed the CIGA Design "Blue Planet" conquer the GPHG Challenge Prize in 2021, and the Peacock Black Hole Central Tourbillon defy gravitational aesthetics. We saw the Sea-Gull Rattrapante democratize one of the most difficult complications in history, and most recently, the meteoric rise of FAM AL HUT, winning the GPHG Audacity Prize as a first-time independent studio.

From the avant-garde engineering of Behrens and ATOWAK to the cultural elegance of Atelier Wen, a new generation of watchmakers is no longer imitating—they are leading.
