A Masterpiece of Miniature Engraving

Created entirely by Swiss master engraver Olivier Kuhn over two years of dedicated work, Pearl of the Dragon is an extraordinary expression of miniature engraving and independent watchmaking artistry. Inspired by the magnificent Nine-Dragon Wall of Beijing's Forbidden City, this one-of-a-kind creation brings the mythical power of the Chinese dragon to life within a mechanical timepiece.
At its centre, a three-dimensional 18K gold dragon coils majestically above the movement's balance wheel, its body adorned with 2,185 individually hand-engraved scales. Vivid acrylic colouring enhances its lifelike presence, while a genuine pearl held in its right front claw represents the legendary Flaming Pearl. A particularly ingenious detail lies in the dragon's eye, which becomes visible only when the hour and minute hands align.
Housed in a screw-free white gold case, the dragon appears to float within an intricately engraved miniature landscape, creating an extraordinary sense of depth and dimension. Produced as a unique piece, numbered 1/1, Pearl of the Dragon stands as a remarkable celebration of artistic vision, cultural inspiration and exceptional craftsmanship.

A magnificent 18K gold Chinese dragon takes centre stage above the movement's balance wheel. Sculpted in three dimensions and visible from both sides of the case, its dynamic form captures the mythical creature's power, majesty and vitality.

Every detail reflects Olivier Kuhn's mastery of miniature engraving. The dragon features 2,185 individually hand-engraved scales, enhanced with richly applied acrylic colours. A genuine pearl set in its right front claw represents the legendary Flaming Pearl, adding a precious finishing touch.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic Nine-Dragon Wall in Beijing's Forbidden City, the composition celebrates the grandeur of imperial Chinese art. The dragon's head and tail both point skyward, expressing ambition, vitality and an unwavering spirit of ascent.

Created entirely by Olivier Kuhn over two years, this exceptional timepiece is housed in a screw-free white gold case that enhances the illusion of a floating dragon. Numbered 1/1, it is a singular work of miniature art and mechanical watchmaking, never to be replicated as an identical piece.
