A Deeper Expression of Classical Form

The VERITAS QINGLUAN Q8012 in Sparrow Blue presents the collection’s architectural concept in a darker, more contemporary register. Inspired by the framed construction of traditional carriage clocks, its rectangular case measures 36mm in length and 23mm in width, with a remarkably slim 7.01mm profile. High-molybdenum specification stainless steel forms the case, finished with carefully controlled satin surfaces that emphasize its stepped geometry. The Sparrow Blue dial introduces a deep, sophisticated color field beneath a finely textured surface, framed by graphic circular markings and a classic 3–6–9–12 layout. At 6 o’clock, a dedicated small seconds sub-dial adds both function and visual balance. Polished Spade hands receive a platinum coating for enhanced oxidation resistance. Inside, the Swiss ETA 980.163 quartz movement provides reliable precision, low-battery indication and approximately three years of battery life.

The QINGLUAN takes its architectural inspiration from historical carriage clocks, translating their framed construction into a compact rectangular wristwatch. The stepped upper and lower case elements create a distinctive bridge-like silhouette, while the restrained 36mm × 23mm proportions preserve an elegant, vintage character without appearing oversized.

The QueLan version introduces a rich Sparrow Blue dial that gives the QINGLUAN a more contemporary and contemplative personality. Its subtle paper-fiber texture prevents the dark surface from appearing flat, while contrasting blue-gray detailing and circular tracks establish visual depth around the central time display and 6 o’clock small seconds.

The QINGLUAN uses classically shaped Spade hands, carefully polished before receiving a platinum coating. Beyond its distinctive silvery appearance, the platinum layer enhances the hands’ resistance to oxidation. Their sculptural profile catches and reflects light as they move across the textured dial, reinforcing the watch’s understated horological character.

At just 7.01mm thick, the QINGLUAN combines a highly structured case design with the practicality of a Swiss ETA 980.163 quartz movement. The caliber provides hours, minutes and small seconds, together with a low-battery indication and hacking function. Its approximately three-year battery life makes the watch exceptionally convenient for daily wear.
