Tribute to China's Lost Heritage and Enduring Legacy

Inspired by the legendary Millennium Zodiac Animal Heads of Yuanmingyuan, the former imperial garden in Beijing, HAOFA brings an extraordinary chapter of Chinese history to the world of mechanical watchmaking.
Originally part of a remarkable water-powered clock at the Haiyantang complex during the Qing Dynasty, the twelve bronze animal heads represented the Chinese zodiac and marked the twelve traditional two-hour periods of the day. Today, they are reimagined as the twelve hour markers of the Millennium Collection, bringing the symbolism of this historic masterpiece onto the wrist.
Eight animal heads are rendered in luminous gold plating, while the remaining four feature dark, aged finishes, creating a striking contrast that reflects the passage of history and the enduring story of lost cultural treasures. Inspired by traditional Chinese compasses and classical decorative patterns, the dial is completed by an original circular hand design that frames the central tourbillon without obscuring its mechanical beauty.
Limited to 500 pieces, this timepiece brings together Eastern aesthetics, historical memory and intricate mechanical craftsmanship in a distinctive tribute to China's cultural heritage.

Inspired by the bronze zodiac sculptures of Yuanmingyuan's historic water clock, twelve finely crafted animal heads take the place of conventional hour markers. Each represents one of the Chinese zodiac signs and its corresponding traditional time period, transforming an iconic cultural relic into an extraordinary dial design.

Eight animal heads feature luminous gold-plated finishes, while four are presented in dark, aged tones to symbolize the cultural treasures that remain displaced. This contrasting treatment evokes the passage of history and serves as a tribute to China's enduring cultural heritage.

Drawing inspiration from traditional Chinese compasses and classical decorative patterns, the dial combines intricate textures with an original circular hand design. Carefully engineered to preserve the visual prominence of the central tourbillon, it brings traditional Eastern aesthetics into contemporary mechanical watchmaking.

At the heart of the watch, the central tourbillon takes centre stage, creating a captivating mechanical focal point within the zodiac-inspired composition. Limited to 500 pieces, the watch is accompanied by a specially designed African Blackwood presentation box and a matching carved wooden zodiac animal-head seal, extending the cultural experience beyond the timepiece itself.
