A Masterpiece of Chinese Imperial Artistry

Inspired by a historic timepiece preserved at the Palace Museum in Beijing, the Gilt-Bronze Nine-Tier Pagoda Rotating Clock is a remarkable recreation of traditional Chinese horological artistry. Faithfully reproduced at a 1:1 scale from the reference documented in Clocks in the Qing Palace, this imposing creation brings the grandeur of imperial craftsmanship into a contemporary collection.
Standing 134 cm tall, the clock rises in nine intricately detailed tiers, each adorned with sweeping pagoda eaves, delicate bells, elaborate openwork and sparkling blue and white stones. Its gilt-bronze finish evokes the splendor of the imperial court, while the octagonal base and richly ornamented case reflect the refined symmetry and decorative vocabulary of traditional Chinese architecture. The ivory-white porcelain dial, framed by red, white and blue stones, is complemented by integrated temperature and humidity displays.
The clock's true enchantment unfolds on the hour. Four floral ornaments above the case begin to rotate as the clock plays Jasmine Flower, one of China's most beloved traditional melodies. The gentle movement, clear musical tones and radiant golden surfaces transform the passage of time into a captivating visual and auditory experience.
Developed over three years by Langqiluo, this second-generation creation combines a German Hermle movement with a proprietary mechanical transmission system. Meticulous handcrafted construction brings together mechanical ingenuity, decorative artistry and the enduring spirit of Chinese craftsmanship.
More than a timekeeping instrument, this extraordinary clock is a statement of cultural heritage and artistic refinement—a sculptural centrepiece for distinguished interiors and a meaningful addition to a collection of exceptional timepieces. It offers a tangible connection to China's imperial aesthetic tradition, where mechanical sophistication and ornamental beauty were conceived as one.
